Resilient Futures Counseling

Therapy for the Overwhelmed Achiever in Northern Virginia

Therapy with me is a space to slow down, make sense of what you're carrying, and actually change the patterns that keep you stuck. I specialize in working with the Overwhelmed Achiever — the person who looks like they have it together on paper, but internally is running on empty, stuck in self-doubt, or waiting for the other shoe to drop. If that's you, you're not alone, and you're not broken. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and late (or suspected) ADHD diagnoses — as well as couples preparing for marriage or navigating the unique challenges of a multicultural relationship. Using evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and IFS, we'll work on building genuine emotional regulation, strengthening your resilience, and creating lifestyle changes that actually last — so you walk away with a clearer understanding of what you need and how to give it to yourself.

Who I Help

Overwhelmed Achievers

Someone else may say you look like you have it together — successful, capable, on top of things. But underneath, you're running on empty, stuck in self-doubt, or waiting for the other shoe to drop. Whether it's anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or a late (or suspected) ADHD diagnosis, we'll work together to understand what's actually driving the overwhelm — not just manage the symptoms of it. This is space to build a version of success that doesn't cost you your wellbeing.

Multicultural Couples

Loving someone from a different cultural background can bring incredible richness — and its own unique set of communication challenges. Whether you're navigating differing family expectations, blending traditions, or working through misunderstandings that seem to stem from more than just "not listening," we'll create space for you to understand each other more fully. My goal is to help you build a relationship where both of your identities are honored, not compromised.

Burnt Out Working Professionals

You've been pushing through for a while now — the deadlines, the responsibilities, the pressure to keep performing at the same level no matter what. But somewhere along the way, "fine" stopped being true, and you're not sure how to slow down without everything falling apart. We'll work on finding sustainable ways to manage your stress, reconnect with what actually matters to you, and build a relationship with work that doesn't require you to burn out to prove your worth.

Hi I’m Hannah!

I work with adults facing anxiety, complex trauma, relational challenges, and late (or suspected) ADHD diagnoses. I use interventions such as CBT, IFS, and other evidence-based tools to help build lasting change. You don't need the right words to start — just a willingness to show up as you are.

My approach is rooted in collaboration and honesty. I'll bring the tools and the expertise, but you're the expert on your own life — my job is to help you make sense of it. Every session is a space to slow down, process what you're carrying, and reconnect with yourself, so the changes we work on together actually hold up outside the room.

  • “I have greatly enjoyed my time working with Hannah and have seen a huge change in my day to day coping with my anxiety. Hannah has helped me understand how to process negative emotions and recognize anxiety triggers, so that I don’t get caught up in extreme emotional moments. She’s also helped me work on my ability to look at past anxiety episodes and understand why they happened and what can be done in the future to mitigate them. Hannah is kind and approachable and I feel comfortable sharing my experiences with her. I love talking about my sessions with Hannah and have encouraged people in my life to seek counseling because of our time together. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for mental health care!”

  • “Hannah is the best therapist I have ever worked with. She is supportive and nonjudgmental, yet honest and unbiased. She has provided me with the support and tools that I need to guide myself through difficulties and has been patient with me in addressing heavier topics; she always makes sure that we discuss heavy topics when I am comfortable and follows my pace. Hannah is very welcoming and easy to talk to and she is very accepting. She has also been very flexible with me and my everchanging work schedule. I would highly recommend her to anyone!”

    — Female, 28

  • “I had a short-term request for an evaluation for work and I reached out to Hannah to see if it was feasible. Hannah responded in a timely fashion and was able to work within the limits of my schedule. Hannah’s demeanor was amazing. She made me feel comfortable and was non-judgmental while I was in a very vulnerable state divulging all my personal details. She was always encouraging and analyzing my words in a way that made me actually recall additional details from earlier in my life. She is very easy to talk to and never felt uncomfortable during the appointment! Post-appointment she was able to provide the documentation needed for my workplace and completed it very rapidly. Overall, I would recommend Hannah to anyone who is looking for a counselor who is understanding, caring, and knowledgeable, while also making you feel comfortable with sharing.”

I really like how when talking with her, she is able to bring up things that she notices from a situation, maybe because it's not clear to me. One thing I will never forget is when she told me, "you can take a deep breath at anytime in the day". Thank you Hannah, you're amazing!"
